April 15, 2011 - Scott Parker has been chosen as a Racheff-Intel Graduate Student Award Recipient!


The group's multidisciplinary research was highlighted in the popular press.

Steve was selected as a 2011 ACS Langmuir Lecturer.


March, 2010 - Congratulations, Bo!

Bo received the 2010 Frank J. Padden Award from the American Physical Society, which is a national award, for the excellence of his polymer physics research. Only one such award is given each year.

November, 2009 - Congratulations, Qian!

Qian has been awarded a Warren Yee Memorial Fellowship, which is presented at the University of Illinois to the most promising overseas Chinese students. It carries a cash award of $5,000.

April, 2009 - Congratulations, Liangfang!

Liangfang won a national award for best Ph.D. thesis, the ACS Victor K. LaMer award for Graduate Research in Colloid and Surface Chemistry. It was presented at the 83rd American Chemical Society (ACS) Colloid and Surface Science Symposium.

April, 2009 - Congratulations, Bo!

Bo received the 2010 Mavis Memorial Fund Scholarship Award worth $5,000 from the College of Engineering.

March, 2009 - Good job, Boss!

Steve Granick was awarded the highest honor in the field of polymer physics. The citation reads, "For pathbreaking and elegant experiments that elucidate the structure and dynamics of polymers and liquids confined by surfaces."

August, 2008 -

Four group members, Liangfang Zhang, Janet Wong, Lenore Dai, and Yoon-Kyoung Cho have this year found new faculty positions. Congratulations!!
