Professional info and CV

Biographical info

My name is Joseph Anthony Bonetti, but everyone has always called me Tony.  I grew up in the suburbs of Charlotte, NC and lived in this area until I was 18.  I  then moved to Atlanta for college at the Georgia Institute of Technology, or Georgia Tech (BS Physics 1996).

I came to the University of Illinois in the fall of 1996 for physics graduate school.  My thesis research is studying high-Tc superconductivity on a mesoscopic length scale by characterizing YBCO nanostructures.

Hobbies and Interests

My biggest hobby is drums.  I purchased my first drumset when I was 14 with money made from mowing lawns.  I have drummed in several bands, 5 rock bands, and one jazz band.  Currently I am in a band called Trademark. Recently I have also played in a band called Lotrel, http://www.mp3.com/lotrel

Another huge interest for me is motor sports and cars.  I have been working on, modifying, and tinkering with cars since I was old enough to drive.  I am a fan of many motor sports, but my main interest is in open-wheeled road course racing, especially Formula One, and CART.   I also find rally car racing, and superbike racing extremely interesting and exciting.
