Sergey Frolov graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2000 with a B.S. Degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics. He was involved in training and research at the Institute of Solid State Physics at Chernogolovka, Russia. Sergey joined the DVH group in 2001.

Currently Sergey is working on Superconductor-Ferromagnet-Superconductor Josephson pi-junctions. This work is aimed at exploring the physical properties of the pi-state and quantum computing applications of pi-junctions.
